1. Overview & Privacy-First Philosophy

Dev Radar ("we", "our", or "the Service") is built as a transparent, five-minute operational intelligence radar for software engineers, site reliability engineers (SREs), and technical teams. Our architecture is deliberately designed around a zero-surveillance, zero-account model.

Key takeaway: We do not track you across the web, require user registration, sell data, or use advertising cookies. Your preferences remain on your own device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To preserve developer privacy and operational independence:

No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or corporate credentials.
No User Accounts or Passwords: There is no registration or login system.
No Tracking Pixels or Ad Tech: We do not embed Facebook Pixels, Google Analytics tracking scripts, behavioral surveillance beacons, or ad network cookies.
No Payment Information: Dev Radar is a free community and developer resource requiring no credit card or financial billing profiles.

3. Client-Side Browser Storage (`localStorage`)

Dev Radar utilizes your browser's local storage solely to enhance your direct reading experience. No storage payload is ever transmitted back to our servers or third parties:

devradar:user_prefs: Stores your self-selected technology stack filters (e.g., preferred cloud providers, developer tools, languages, and deployment regions) configured via the Setup Wizard.
devbrief:lastVisit: Stores the local timestamp of your previous visit. This enables the client-side UI to calculate and highlight signals that are "NEW" or "UPDATED" since your last check-in.

You can clear or reset this data at any time directly through the "Edit Stack" button in the filter banner or via your browser's clear site data settings.

4. Public Data Collection & Aggregation

All operational signals, service incident summaries, maintenance windows, CVE security advisories, and lifecycle milestones displayed on Dev Radar are ingested exclusively from public, authoritative upstream sources (such as official provider Statuspage feeds, GitHub Advisory Database, CISA KEV catalogs, and official release schedules).

Backend data collection runs on scheduled Cloudflare Workers cron triggers and stores aggregated public platform state in Cloudflare D1 databases without capturing visitor information.

5. Third-Party Links & Outage Pages

Dev Radar provides direct hyperlinks to official vendor status pages (e.g., AWS Health, GitHub Status, Cloudflare Status, Slack Status) and CVE vulnerability databases. When you click an external link, you leave Dev Radar and interact directly with that third party's domain, which is subject to their independent privacy and cookie policies.

6. Server Logging & Edge Infrastructure

Our static assets and read API are hosted globally on Cloudflare edge network infrastructure. Like standard internet communications, temporary edge routing logs (such as IP addresses and request timestamps) may be processed by Cloudflare strictly for DDoS mitigation, edge routing performance, and security purposes in compliance with Cloudflare's privacy practices.

7. Policy Modifications & Inquiries

If our operational architecture or data practices evolve, we will update this document with a new revision date. Because we do not retain user contact lists, we invite readers to review this page periodically.
