Terms of Service & Operational Disclaimer
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Dev Radar ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Operational Disclaimer. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Informational & Operational Purpose
Dev Radar is an independent developer operational newspaper and monitoring dashboard. It is engineered to provide software engineers, site reliability engineers (SREs), DevOps practitioners, and technical leaders with rapid situational awareness regarding cloud outages, platform disruptions, security advisories (CVEs, CISA KEVs, malware), and software release lifecycles.
3. "As-Is" Operational Disclaimer & Vendor SLA Authority
Please note the following critical operational safety principles:
- Primary Vendor Authority: Official provider status portals (such as AWS Health Dashboard, GitHub Status, Microsoft Azure Status, Google Cloud Service Health, Cloudflare Status, and Slack Status) remain the sole authoritative source of truth for contractual service levels, official incident timelines, and SLA credits.
- Polling Cadences & Propagation: Ingestion runs on automated periodic intervals (15 minutes for service health, 2 hours for security advisories, 6 hours for platform changes, daily for lifecycles). Incidents beginning or resolving between polling cycles or during upstream provider caching delays may experience a slight propagation offset.
- No Critical Life Safety Use: Dev Radar must not be used as the sole alerting mechanism for life-critical, emergency, medical, or life-safety infrastructure.
4. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Trademarks
All product names, logos, brands, trademarks, and registered trademarks mentioned on Dev Radar (including but not limited to Amazon Web Services, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, GitHub, GitLab, Docker, Slack, npm, Python, PyPI, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Atlassian, Vercel, Datadog, PagerDuty, Sentry, Stripe) are the property of their respective owners.
Reference to these trademarks on Dev Radar is made strictly for identification, operational news reporting, and fair-use informational purposes. Dev Radar is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these third-party organizations.
5. Permitted & Acceptable Use
You are welcome to use Dev Radar for personal workflows, engineering standup briefings, team operations, and dashboard displays. You agree not to:
- Launch Denial of Service (DoS) or excessive programmatic scraping attacks against our edge infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass security boundaries, interfere with edge routing, or inject malicious payloads.
- Misrepresent Dev Radar's aggregated summaries as official vendor-certified SLA statements.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DEV RADAR, ITS CONTRIBUTORS, AND MAINTAINERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, SYSTEM FAILURE, OR DEPLOYMENT DOWNTIME) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ANY AGGREGATED OPERATIONAL SIGNALS.
7. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Service following any revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
